Different Kinds Of Security Systems

Installing security systems even in low-crime areas is now becoming more popular because the benefits far outweigh the costs. Choosing the appropriate one for your home can be a confusing task because of the many options available.  Before you go shopping for a security system, it will be well worth your effort to familiarize yourself with the different types available in the market. Here are some great articles about home alarms and what to look for when purchasing one.
Following are the basic kinds of security systems:
Monitored System   One of the most commonly used alarm systems is the monitored system, which alerts a call center when the alarm is triggered. The call center will then contact the nearest police station and call your home to check on you.  A variation of the monitored system is the two-way communications system which is one of the best home security options you can purchase. When an intruder breaks into your home, the monitoring services are immediately alerted and they will be able to listen to the sounds inside your home. The authorities are alerted when there are unusual noises.
Un-monitored System:   This kind of system triggers a loud siren when the alarm is set off.
Unmonitored  security systems can be installed indoors or outdoors.  Indoor options are usually installed in the doors or windows so that the alarm is raised when a door or window is opened.  Indoor options can also check for movements inside the house because they have motion sensors. After installation, all you have to do is key in your own code.  You can then switch the alarm on when you leave and switch it off when you come home.   Outdoor options monitor the area around your home.  These systems can also be programmed to switch on flood lights in case movement is detected in the surrounding area.  A key feature of the new models is the system’s ability to detect if the moving object is an intruder or a stray cat or dog.  The system will sound the alarm only if there is an intruder. There are also driveway alarms that you can use to secure your car.
